The holiday homes are situated at the entrance to the village of Olympiada which lies beside the site of ancient Stageira the birthplace of Aristotle the famous philosopher and tutor to Alexander the Great.
In the spring and summer, the mountains are abundant with wild flowers and herbs – all the nature that Aristotle studied.
The best oregano can be found at the sides of the mountain tracks and footpaths which we gather and dry – delicious sprinkled on Greek salad and feta cheese. The village makes its own feta cheese from sheep and goats that feed on these wild plants.
